Backcountry, Mt Rainier National Park, WA
After hiking for hours in the pouring rain along the iconic Wonderland Trail I finally climbed above the rain. Clouds as thick as pea soup were engulfing the forest around me. Everything was dead quiet and I found myself literally holding my breath so as not to disturb the solitude. I came to see Mt Rainier, and I left knowing that my favorite image and memory would be one where I wasn't even able to see the mountain. Photo © copyright by Luke Tingley.
