Was fortunate to have one of my images published in Outdoor Photographer (July 2015). Took this shot at Two Medicine Lake in Glacier National Park on a fall trip.
Trip Reports: Canyonlands
This past fall I was able to spend a few days in Zion National Park with some of my good friends and fellow photographers. One of my favorite National Parks, it’s like a giant photographers playground. Some of the best areas of the park can’t even be experienced unless you get deep into the backcountry.
Trip Reports: Canadian Rockies
Some new images from my trip to the Canadian Rockies this past fall. For part of the trip we visited Assiniboine Provincial park to photograph and explore for several days. Took some logistics and planning as there are no roads into the park. The only way in is by hiking, helicopter, or horseback. We took the heli in and then hiked out 20 miles at the end of our trip. It was a great adventure and we had a blast. I’m definitely going to have to visit the park again. Although maybe next time I’ll take the heli both ways! Mt Assiniboine is absolutely staggering. It’s called the Mattehorn of the Rockies for a reason.
Trip Reports – Mt Rainier National Park
Finally! Some new images. I was fortunate enough to get to spend 8 days solo backpacking in Mt Rainier National Park this past summer. I had never been there, so I spent much of my time scouting and hiking. It rained pretty much the entire time I was there. I saw Rainier the first day I was there and the last day and a half. That being said, it was still an awesome trip. I was able to get a ton of backcountry hiking in. The mountain itself is absolutely staggering. I’ve been around big mountains, but wasn’t really prepared for how jaw dropping it would be. This was also my first trip during wildflower season. It was crazy how many wildflowers there were, they were everywhere! I saw a huge brown bear near Pyramid Peak. Scared the poor guy pretty bad though, he saw me as I reached for my GoPro and went tearing across the meadow before I could get him on camera.
More new images are on there way once I get through them. Still to come: Canadian Rockies, Zion, and Yosemite.

Finally have my next round of new images ready from a couple of my earlier trips this year. Many more yet to come…

New Images: Big Sable Point Lighthouse
First of several new images to come. After wrapping up a stellar year of photography, I’m finally getting around to posting some of my images. Below are two. I’ll have many more to come over the next couple months.

Moments after the lighthouse light winked out, sunrise breaks on a beautiful morning after a storm on the shores of Lake Michigan.

Cotton Candy Skies : Prints Available
Dawn on the horizon, Big Sable Point in the distance, and an amazing light show to kick off a beautiful morning.
Both of these images were taken as a storm dissipated over the shores of Lake Michigan this past summer. Took my family camping for a long weekend and managed to sneak away for a sunrise. The light on this morning was absolutely stunning. I was holding my breath and my hands were literally shaking as I took these shots. So few are sunrises this spectacular that I was praying I got everything right in those few pivotal moments before the color winked out.
New Images – Coming Soon
I have new images coming later this winter. It’s been an incredibly busy summer and with all the travelling I just haven’t had time to post new images.
I have had a pretty good year with new images though, and should have a handful coming from: Oregon, Washington, Canada, Michigan, Minnesota, and Utah. So stay tuned.
Trip Reports: Glacier National Park
Here are my new images from my trip to Glacier National Park this fall. I drug my good friend and fellow photographer Monte Trumbull with me. Our first visit to this national park, and we were definitely not disappointed. Pretty amazing park! I’ll definitely have to make another trip here to do some more back country hiking and camping.
The wildlife at this park was amazing. I saw more wildlife during our week at Glacier than I’ve seen on all my other trips combined. We saw tons of big horn sheep and mountain goats, black bears, eagles, marmots, a moose, and a grizzly. I think the only animal I didn’t see was a wolverine, hopefully next time!
